After a heavenly hot stone massage, what could be better than braised e-fu noodles in a claypot. To be enjoyed while watching possible the most classic TVB detective drama (ask any TVB addict who 徐飞 and 武俏君is) ever on a Sunday night, in preparation of another work week :)

You’d need…

E-fu noodles (obviously)

Dried scallops (hence, indulgence)

Carrots

Iceberg(?) lettuce

Mushrooms (I add mushrooms to everything so this is omit-able)

Any kind of meat - I used some crabmeat thingy I found at the seafood counter.

+++++++++++++++++++++++

Started out by making some form of scallop stock - grabbed some dried scallops and simmered it with a little water. As it was boiling and the water started to take on some scallop taste, I added some sliced carrots.

In the meantime, whipped up a basic mixture of oyster sauce, water, starch and pepper.

As the stock became tastier, I added the e-fu noodles, which I found out was ridiculously easy to cook (sorry la, first time cooking that). As it softened, I added the basic mixture as mentioned above.

Then everything else went in - the lettuce, mushrooms, and the crabmeat thingy.

As it boiled a little more, a little Chinese cooking wine was poured in.

And in true Sze style, all the quantities were in agar-ation :)

And I had my Sunday dinner. And it’s really quite yum :)

Ignore the sodium part and you’d be just ok :)
